#EmpowerYouthAgainstHate

Picture
In early January we were elated to learn that Music in Common was awarded a $159,000 federal grant to produce multiple JAMMS programs throughout the country beginning immediately. Then, on June 26th, the grant was revoked by the Trump administration.

The news was crippling, but, determined to stay the course we launched the #EmpowerYouthAgainstHate Campaign in July. Fueled by people around the country who believe in Music in Common to create real and lasting change, we have raised nearly 26% of our $159,000 goal in the first 8 weeks.

We invite you to explore our website for information and news on our programs, including videos, images, and more.  We urge you to join us in recouping the lost funds for these vital programs by participating in any of the events and activities below and by sharing the campaign with friends, family, and colleagues.

Please don't hesitate to email us with questions, ideas, or comments.  THANK YOU!

Join James Taylor in Supporting Music in Common!

We could not be more grateful and honored that Music in Common's #EmpowerYouthAgainstHate campaign is being supported by the legendary singer/songwriter, James Taylor! He has made a generous donation of a Yamaha Model FG800 guitar, which he has autographed and will personalize for one contributor.  JT's support, along with so many others is fueling us to grow to new levels of excellence and impact.

The drawing of one name will take place on Saturday December 2, 2017 at a MIC Benefit Concert by Todd Mack at Dewey Hall in Sheffield, MA.

Tickets available at button to right and will also be available at Music in Common Events until December 2 or by emailing info@musicincommon.org.

Notification will be by email or phone.

Help MIC Meet Our Match!

An anonymous donor has offered to support Music in Common with a $10,000 contribution if we can raise $20,000 from new donors by the end of the year. If you haven't donated yet, this is a great time! And if you have, here’s how you can help us meet this goal:

  • Share this link with friends, family, colleagues, and groups.
  • Encourage people who don't know about Music in Common to make a donation by telling them why it matters to you.
  • Invite your church or synagogue and their congregants to participate in the challenge by making a donation.
  • Dedicate your birthday, anniversary or other occasion to Music in Common by encouraging "in lieu of " gifts!
