Thank you for your interest in
participating in FODfest, presented by Music in Common. By submitting your request to perform you agree to
the following terms.
- If
selected to perform, you agree to show up to the concert(s) you have been
selected for. Regrettably, each year Music in Common has to turn away many
musicians due to space limitations. Not showing up when selected not only
causes considerable production headaches, it takes away the opportunity
from other musicians to participate.
- FODfest is
a unique performance format. If selected, you agree to comply with the
performance guidelines. These guidelines vary with each event and will be
communicated to you via email by the event producer prior to the event.
- FODfest concerts are about community. Most of the musicians performing at any given event have
never met before. While jamming is a big part of the FODfest experience, respecting a
songwriter's / musician's request not to accompany them is equally important.
Please show respect and restraint when on stage.
- Each
artist who wants to lead a song will be assigned ahead of time the number
of songs they can lead based upon a variety of factors including number of
participants, musical needs, etc. This is typically 1-3 songs. While we
strive to accommodate as many requests as possible to lead a song, we
cannot guarantee it.
- Music in Common,
Inc. is a non-profit corporation. All performers agree to volunteer their
time to perform at FODfest. All concerts are free and open to the public.
All proceeds from donations collected at the concerts, merchandise sales,
and Premier Seating ticket sales help offset the production,
post-production, promotion, and tour expense incurred by Music in Common, Inc. as
well as underwriting Music in Common, Inc. programming.
- All
participants are responsible for their own travel expenses and for making
their own travel arrangements.
- By
agreeing to participate in FODfest, you are consenting to the recording
and filming by Music in Common, Inc. of your performance and hereby granting Music in Common, Inc. the right to include your name, likeness, and the
performance of your music in future promotional and commercially released
materials including, but not limited to, CDs, DVDs, digital downloads, and
audio and video clip postings on the internet.
Music in Common, Inc. owns the right to any
photograph, video, and audio from such performances, and is authorized to use
such photographs or recordings throughout the world. Music in Common, Inc. may
use such photographs and recordings for the purpose of promoting and
fundraising for Music in Common, Inc., and retains the right to produce, manufacture,
and distribute CDs, DVDs, digital downloads, and related merchandise of said
recordings to sell without additional consent of the artist beyond this
agreement. You waive your right to be paid any mechanical royalties by Music in Common,
Inc. for the composition performed that is included on said recordings. Music in Common, Inc. will have no rights to the recording or the composition beyond
the right to manufacture and distribute such CDs, DVDs, and digital downloads
for its own purposes. Proceeds from any sales will benefit Music in Common, Inc. in its
mission to strengthen, empower, and educate communities through the universal
language of music. Music in Common, Inc. will furnish two copies of any and all
CDs and DVDs to each artist whose songs are included. Music in Common, Inc. grants the
right to the artist to use the recording of their song for their own purposes,
commercial or otherwise. Upon request, Music in Common, Inc. will provide
the master of said song to the artist. Artist agrees to properly credit Music in Common, Inc. and its personnel on all commercially distributed products
containing the master.
- All
FODfest participants agree to promote their appearance as they would one
of their own shows utilizing their mailing list, website, myspace, etc.
Please cc info@musicincommon.org when
sending emails to promote your appearance.
